Remember when R. Kelly had some issues with peeing all over a 15 year old girl? You probably thought that aside from being really embarrassed and becoming a joke, he wasn’t in any trouble. Nah, he just started trial.
It’s been 6 years that the music mogul’s legal team has been able to delay the trial. Kelly was charged with child pornography and the trial is finally underway. Jury selection began on May 9th – I think that’d be a very humorous trial to sit through. I can just imagine them in the jury room, “so do you think that’s her head he’s pissing on?”
One thing R. Kelly has going for him is that the alleged victim is now 23 and she claims it was not her in the video tape – my guess is that it probably was indeed her, but who would admit to taking a golden shower?
Chicago police brought pornography charges against Kelly in June 5, 2002 – after the tape leaked onto the internet. Someone anonymously sent the video footage to the Chicago Sun-Times. The prosecution insists that Kelly is the one on the video tape, although his legal team has not yet admitted that.
What is with R. Kelly and the little girls?
This is not the first time he’s been singing nursery rhymes. He’s settled three law suits regarding sexual intercourse with underage girls. One in 1997, one in 2001, and he was sued in 2002 by a girl who stated that Kelly made her have an abortion at the age of 16. He was even arrested in Florida when police found pictures of him having sex with yet another young girl, but charges were dropped due to illegal search and seizure.
And let’s not forget his marriage to Aaliyah when she was only 15. Luckily, out of respect to Aaliyah, the marriage was annulled by her parents. A relation to R. Kelly after her death would be a shadow on her great career.
But seriously, after all of these allegations – R. Kelly’s earned himself a seat right next to Michael Jackson.

I’m glad this article makes sure the message gets across that sex with minors is wrong. You’d be surprised but a lot of news articles will go the route of victim-blaming. Good job.
