I’m Just a Country Boy (who met a city girl) Lyrics and Free Download

Just got finished with the rough cut of another song called “Country Boy.” Still needs a few tweaks on mixing and then mastering, but I always like to get feedback before I finalize the song.

People might assume from the name that I’m saying I’m a farm boy, but if you read the lyrics it’s actualy moreso just about being from the suburbs/country and meeting people who grew up in a more metropolitan area. Lines such as “I’ve seen a pig before” rather than saying I’ve raised pigs and stuff. Just had fun with it and put a country twist on a pop genre song.

Anyway, this song is different from most stuff you hear on the radio, but I wanted to have fun with it and have more of a unique style with my music.

“Country Boy” song lyrics

I’m just a country boy, I’m just a country boy…

I’m just a country boy
Who met a city girl
I mow the green grass
She got an easy pass
I like a mountain view
She got an attitude
But when we’re together
They say there’s never been a better two
I’m not afraid of dirt
She gets a manicure
I’ve seen a pig before,
She’s wearing pink valor
I get in bar fights
She got the city lights
But we get along just right

So I met the girl in college
She was a stranger
She said she from New York
I told her I’m from Pennsylvania
(I said) I sure would like to take ya
Out for a ride,
She hailed a cab, and smacked my back
And told me hop inside
We took a ride on up to fifth ave
And when we got there we were walkin and talkin
Cause she was all about the chit chat
Wow I gotta get that
Everything she saw
Already got a lot
But she gotta have it all
She was such a flirt (yea)
There wasn’t much to her skirt
She had chanel earrings, belly piercing
Glitter on her shirt
Now I gotta admit
This girl was beautiful
Later on we got some dinner
And we headed to a musical
I’m more about the sports games
I was hoping that we’d leave the show early
But I’m not the type to force things
I think it’s good for me,
That we don’t always agree,
I kinda like it, maybe changing ways is just what I need

I’m just a country boy
Who met a city girl
I mow the green grass
She got an easy pass
I like a mountain view
She got an attitude
But when we’re together
They say there’s never been a better two
I’m not afraid of dirt
She gets a manicure
I’ve seen a pig before,
She’s wearing pink valor
I get in bar fights
She got the city lights
But we get along just right

Wow now, I gotta show you my place,
House in the burbs,
Small town style now
But it’s what I prefer
And It’s gonna be a change from
the clubs to the bars
So just relax and pack ya bags
And grab a seat my car
So I took her to the carnival, we rode some rides
I had a nice night planned,
She was so surprised
She had to close her eyes on the zipper
She loved the clear skies, we could see the big dipper
I took her for a look at a movie at the drive-in
We watched the first half, got some snacks,
Then it was back to the drivin
The night went pretty well, I’d say we had a good time,
We hit a party cross town, to meet some friends of mine
They were pretty impressed right when they met her
Lookin great in a dress, they’re laughin, askin how’d I get her
Everything was just right -  Another perfect night
She from the city, suddenly I’m thinking that’s what I like
(I like)

I’m just a country boy
Who met a city girl
I mow the green grass
She got an easy pass
I like a mountain view
She got an attitude
But when we’re together
They say there’s never been a better two
I’m not afraid of dirt
She gets a manicure
I’ve seen a pig before,
She’s wearing pink valor
I get in bar fights
She got the city lights
But we get along just right

I’m small town guy
She’s a big city girl
She takes the train, I drive
She’s mine, I’m hers

I’m just a country boy
Who met a city girl
I mow the green grass
She got an easy pass
I like a mountain view
She got an attitude
But when we’re together
They say there’s never been a better two
I’m not afraid of dirt
She gets a manicure
I’ve seen a pig before,
She’s wearing pink valor
I get in bar fights
She got the city lights
But we get along just right
